2018 seemed to be the year our world finally got out of control.
Old allies are breaking treaties. Global warming is as tangible as it is being denied. Some think they can tell others who to love, what person to be, which life to live. Careers are still often predetermined by gender. Fascists are being elected again into parliaments around the world.

It seems that many believe we don’t share any responsibilities beyond our own backyard. Well, we do. Working in the entertainment industry does provide a certain escapism - but we all need to get involved and start to no longer tolerate intolerant people.

We never posted anything political before - but working with so many amazing people from around the world on a daily basis inevitably restores your faith in humanity and friendship. And it makes you wish you could tell everyone how great this world can be. Which we now did, thanks to the internet.

We are incredibly proud to see that The Academy has chosen all three releases from Marvel Studios in 2018 to be on the list of the last 20 films in the race for the Oscar for Best Visual Effects. 2018 also marks the first year of our involvement on all three films at RISE. We're keeping our fingers crossed, Geoff, Dan and Stef! You and your teams, you all deserve it!
